Galway, cultural capital of Ireland, is located in west coast of Ireland. To only three hours of Dublin, it is a young university city with an ample industrial sector. Galway is one of the cities with the fastest growth, and counts on a population of 66.000 inhabitants. Soon it will occupy the third place between the biggest cities of Ireland, due to his local economy, tourist sector and university studies.

Galway is known like the door to Connemara. The surprising landscapes and views to the sea of Connemara and Cliffs of Moher are very near the city, which allows visiting them easily. The three islands of Galway’s coast, Plow Islands, are unique in their tradition, archaeology and in their Christian origins, a place which seems not to have passed the time and where you can feel and experiment the past.

There was a time, between the 15th and 16th centuries in which Galway became a famous port by its fecund commerce with Spain. A testimony of this glorious past is the Spanish Arch or Arco Español, the only door of the historical walls that stills remains on. The Spanish Arc was constructed in 1584 to protect the port, and at the present time it is recovered with bottoms of European Union. But this one is not the only vestige that rely Galway to Spain, since, peculiarly, the last name De Burgos belongs to one of the families most reputed of the region and one of the best restaurants of the city is called like this.
